Hit More Homeruns By Hitting The Hips In The Weight Room

9 July 2009 • Major League Insider Training.

Here we are just days after the 4th of July…but at Major League Insider Training,
the explosions are just beginning!

As you know, power is KEY to not only increasing your velocity on the mound,
but also to turning around those heaters and depositing them on the other
side of the fence…if you’re a hitter

However, that said, unless you’re “hip” to how to turn on your hips in your swing
(HINT…these are your power generators!), then you’re not quite hitting it
as far as you can just yet.

But think about how exciting that is?!?

If you’re like most young ballplayers, you’re currently only hitting the ball
about 60%-70% of what you are capable of!

Want to start “bumping” that up in just a few days?

Then welcome to one of the finest (and easiest) drills of the Load To Explode
system. Start doing this one move and you might want to start practicing
your home run trot as well! You’re going to need it!

Check this out:

Til next week,
Best in health and baseball…..

Jeff

PS. Don’t miss out on the re-release of “Load To Explode”!
This sold out in just 3 days last time it was offered…
don’t be left without it again! http://www.loadtoexplode.com

    Jeff,

If a person is a right hand pitcher but hits left, It seems obvious that they need to do both hips. But regardless should we condition both sides in order to keep our strength balanced? And when throwing or hitting the inbalance in strength could work against us. Great videos and info. I always look forward to the next post!

    Thanks.

  3. Hi, Jeff! My name is Megan and I’m a PT in NYC. I originally came across a video of yours on YouTube. I recognized the Advance magazine poster behind you so I dug through some cover stories I’ve saved, found the article, & realized who you are. I came to this website in hopes to learn more about exercises during rehab from a shoulder injury. So far, you have given me great ideas for exercises. I’m currently seeing a young pitcher, age 15, for shoulder pain. We are doing a lot of strengthening exercises and his pain has been eliminated. I am starting to do some research on proper throwing techniques for him and came across your video. He does continue to have a click at the last phase of his throw during the follow threw. I will continue strengthening to eliminate this but also want to make sure his throwing technique is spot on to prevent further injury.
Recently I have been really interested in the shoulder. I went to a shoulder course with Bob Donatelli and I am eager to continue learning. Sports are a passion of mine and I would appreciate any help you can give to further my knowledge so my career can be more focused on athletes. Please touch base with me. Thank you!
